Happy 2010!  I had a very nice and much-needed low-key New Year's Eve but quickly reversed course and saw possibly the best show of the past year on January 1st at Trinity (John Digweed). 

It's now midway through the month, and I have a few upcoming gigs.  This Saturday night (Jan 16/17), I have my monthly residency at Contour afterhours.  Details here.  There is usually a great crowd for afterhours.

Then, next month, I have 3 shows so it's going to be a busy February! 

I am playing an all-ages Valentine's show on February 5th that has been getting a massive amount of great feedback.  Details here.  

Then the next night on February 6th, Joshua James and I return to See Sound Lounge for what will undoubtedly be an early highlight for 2010.

  I also wanted to give a quick plug for my friend Jason LeMaitre (who a lot of you know).  Jason has entered himself into the Let's Mix It Next Generation DJ contest.  Top prizes include a management contract, gigs at the 2010 WMC, and some new Pioneer Pro DJ gear.  You can go to the mix he has entered into the contest here.  Listen to it and vote for it (if you like it).  He needs a little less than 100 more votes before the end of January to qualify for the next round.  My personal opinion is that it's one of the best mixes I've heard in the past year.  He also mixed in some of his own edits and mashups.  You'll have to register on the website, but it's super quick (name and email address), and I think you'll find many more mixes you like too. 

This Saturday night (Sunday morning), Jason LeMaitre will be my guest at Contour afterhours.  Jason has earned his status as a true workhorse and one of the most popular DJs in Seattle with his own brand of progressive house/trance & electro that he has named (fittingly) prolectro.  Jason holds a Saturday night residency in Trinity's Blue Room, where he has generously helped launch the budding careers of many local DJs as well as occasionally feature national-level producers and DJs.  The first time I actually saw Jason play was at Contour.  He showed up with all of his own equipment and played immediately after me, where he besieged the dance floor with a very impressive selection of music and stage presence - strong stage presence even though he had to setup his equipment facing the side wall  ;-)
